Sodium cyanide is a cyanide salt containing equal numbers of sodium cations and cyanide anions. It has a role as an EC 1.15. 1.1 (superoxide dismutase) inhibitor. It is a cyanide salt, a one-carbon compound and a sodium salt.

xanthate, any of a class of organic salts formed by treatment of an alcohol with carbon disulfide in the presence of an alkali. The term is derived from the Greek word xanthos, for “yellow,” in reference to the compound potassium ethyl xanthate (C2H5OCS2K), which gives a yellow precipitate when combined with copper sulfate. The most important group of xanthates are the sodium salts produced from cellulose; these materials are processed to form the synthetic fibre rayon or the transparent film cellophane, then reconverted to cellulose. The xanthates of some low-molecular-weight alcohols are used as flotation agents for the concentration of ores.

Eastman MIBC (Methyl Isobutyl Carbinol – 4-methyl-2-pentanol) is a colorless chemical compound primarily used in lube oil applications (as a chemical intermediate in manufacture of zinc dialkyldithiophosphate) and mining operations (as a flotation frother). It is also so used in smaller volumes as a coating solvent (in nitrocellulose and hot spray lacquers).

Hydrogen peroxide is used to disinfect tools, bleach hair, and to clean surfaces. It’s also used in oral care and gardening. It may be discomforting to know that a touted skin treatment can also be used as a household cleaner.

Sulfuric acid is used to leach copper oxide minerals. In one process, a solution of sulfuric acid laden with copper sulfate is stripped of copper via a solvent extraction and electro winning with the used sulfuric acid recycled back into the process.
